What are the choices in curricula?
Victory Christian Academy
primarily uses curriculum from
Accelerated Christian
Education (ACE). This curriculum
is often commonly known as PACEs. PACE stands for
Packet of Accelerated Christian Education. There are
five core subjects: Math, English, Social Studies,
Science and Word Building. Each PACE is 1/12 of a year's
work and should take about 2-3 weeks to complete.
Victory Christian Academy also uses curriculum from
Alpha
Omega Publications (AOP) to supplement the ACE
curriculum. The LIFEPAC curriculum is a
paper based curriculum with five core subjects: Math,
Language, History & Geography, Science, and Bible. Each
LIFEPAC is 1/10 of a year's work and should take 3-4
weeks to complete.
How is the curriculum choice
determined for each child?
Part of the determining factor is parental choice. We
speak to parents about the advantages of both options.
The other factor is the learning style of the student.
Once a curriculum plan has been established, we ask that
students stick with that plan for a least 2 quarters
before changing. Sometimes it takes that long for a
student to get acclimated to the curriculum.
